Kevin Strootman attraverso il suo profilo Twitter ha precisato il suo stato attuale dell'infortunio: "Contrariamente alle notizie riportate dai media. Ho ripreso ad allenarmi e lavorare duro per il mio rientro. Per favore non credete a persone che non ho mai visto in vita mia, ma seguite le mie pagine social e quelle della AS Roma che vi terranno aggiornati in merito al mio recupero. Giusto per precisare, sono perfettamente in linea con la tabella di marcia per il mio rientro, previsto per il raduno della prossima stagione".
